The Internets has been all abuzz about a new film called "I Will Follow", starring Salli Richardson-Whitfield. Beyond being a critically acclaimed film, this film is getting a lot of buzz because it is being distributed through alternative channels. Instead of being distributed through traditional avenues, it is being distributed by AFFRM, the African American Film Releasing Movement. So far I Will Follow has opened in Atlanta, LA, NYC, Philadelphia and Seattle. This week it opens in several other cities, including Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Houston, and Charlotte. Unfortunately Minneapolis isn't on that list yet, but in the meantime, I encourage all of you to go out & support this film! Many of us whine & complain about the lack of good Black films, so we need to make sure that we support the ones that are made.
