Bridal Tales - Save the Dates Done!

After our fantastic engagement shoot, I was super anxious to get our photos...not just to see how they turned out, but so that I could order our Save the Dates! Normally Save the Dates are optional, but because the majority of our guests are out-of-town, we wanted to send them. We had a two-week wait to receive our photos after the engagement shoot, so I used that time to some comparison shopping for Save the Date options. I decided that our Save the Date had to be a magnet, so that our guests could easily hang them on their fridge. I spent a lot of time browsing various sites to see their options and I also played around with personalizing a few that I really liked. Several sites, including Wedding Paper Divas, Minted, and MagnetStreet, provide free samples, so I ordered samples of the Save the Dates I loved.  Once I received all the samples, LM and I compared all our options and agreed on a Save the Date design that we both liked and was in our budget.

After much comparison, we went with this Modern Chalkboard Save the Date magnet from MagnetStreet. We also purchased the coordinating envelope seals and address labels. Personalizing our products was very easy - MagnetStreet has a good interface that was intuitive to use. I was able to upload our engagement photo, change fonts, and change colors. I also had 2 additions that I requested their design team add - a link to our wedding website and a pi symbol underneath the date of our wedding (because we're having a Pi Day wedding). Their designers returned our proofs within 24 hours and everything looked great. I anticipated a two-week printing time, but we received our order after only one week! We also received more Save the Dates than we ordered - we ordered 75 but our final count was 89. Everything came packaged beautifully and all the magnets looked gorgeous.

Our Save the Date magnet

I spent the next two days getting our Save the Dates ready to mail, and I mailed them out on a Friday afternoon. Luckily they only required a regular First Class stamp, and by the middle of the next week, 90% of our guests had received their Save the Date. Everyone has raved about how cute they are, which I love. We also used a discount code for our MagnetStreet order, and the total cost of the Save the Dates and postage came in under our budget! Definitely a great win.

We're a few months out from needing to order our wedding invitations and other stationary, but I'll definitely be starting with MagnetStreet first as I look at options. Their customer service and quality were excellent.
